After more than 17 years as a professional, it’s safe to say Ruth Downing knows a thing or two about photography in the agricultural and rural sector.
An exceptional choice, then, to feature as a guest judge – alongside Goodyear Farm Tires representatives – in our photography competition for the agricultural community.
More than 50 entries have been received in our competition which closes today and now it’s time for those with the unenviable task of deciding the winners, including Ruth, to sift through the entries.
“I was extremely honoured to be asked to be a judge in the competition,” said Ruth, who founded her business Rural Pictures in 2003.
“Goodyear Farm Tires is a well-respected and much-loved name on the farming scene and the competition is fantastic.
“I’m very fortunate to do a job that I love and gives me a great deal of pleasure and hopefully the people who have entered have got the same satisfaction.”
We are offering the chance for farmers to submit eye-catching photography for three different categories, with the winners seeing their pictures featured in our marketing material for 2021 which will be viewed by tens of thousands of people across the UK.
In addition, the winners will also receive a share of a prize fund of more than £2,000 worth of merchandise and product.
The three categories are Farming Landscapes, Farming Family Life and My Tractor and Machinery Running on Goodyear Farm Tires.
Ruth added: “With many years experience of agricultural photography, including shows and rural events, I am very much looking forward to judging the entries.
“We will be looking for creativity and use of light but, most importantly, hoping to see the passion all farmers have for the work they do shine through in their photography.”
